In this Tutorial we are going to learn How To Create an FTP Account in cPanel?
What is FTP Account?
The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used to transfer computer files between a client and server on a computer network.
Why we are create FTP Account in Cpanel? What is the purpose?:
An FTP account is used for uploading and managing files on your website. We can create FTP Account for particular Directory.If We want to give access for other users of particulars directory/folder then we can create FTP Account for that directory and give those ftp details for them Then They can access that folder/directory for using those ftp details.
Prerequisites:
FileZilla,CuteFtp,Sftp
Process:
Step1:
Login into Cpanel account go to Lastpass vault
After that you can see below screen
A.] click on […] icon to open lastpass vault.
B.]Search cpanel in search vault field
C.]After that you can see list of related result which you have search in above steps
In that you can see “Ip address with domain name” ,
After that select domain name where you have to create ftp account then
you can see “Cpanel” login page or else you can logged into directly and see
“cpanel” DashBoard.
D) After that you can see below screen (depending on your browser).
For mozilla firefox
A)Click on ‘Advance’ button
B)click on ‘Add Exception’ button
C)click on ‘Confirm Security Exception’
For Google Chrome
A)Click on ‘Advance’ button
B)click on ‘Proceed to ………….(unsafe)’ text
After following all above steps you you can see “Cpanel” login page. After that logged in to cpanel with selecting particular domain on dropdown and hit on “log in”
button.
Step2:
Click the “FTP Accounts” icon.

Step3:
To create a new FTP account, enter a new login and password.

In that step please enter username, password and next field that is Directory
Select Proper Directory path which you have to give access to other user.so they can access that directory only
Step4:
Then click “Create FTP Account”.

Step 5:
That’s it! The new FTP account has been created.

Step6:
You can then change the FTP account’s password, quota, or delete the account.

Testing or What can go wrong?
Check Whether you have entered correct Directory Path.
Login into filezilla or cuteftp or other tool with created login details and check you have to access those directory which you have created FTP or Not?
